The meeting was called to order by President Karl Borst at 7:38pm
RECAP OF 2007 SEASON
· Dive Booklet rule changes discussed.
· “Meet resumed after rainouts.” There were no rainouts during 2007 season; therefore, there were no problems and new Rule was not tested. Lori Puente suggested that we make the rule “provisional” for one more year.
· Karl said that a final ruling on extending the rule as provisional would be decided at the March 2008 Meeting.
Karl asked that any changes/suggestions to Rules or any other League issues be sent to the Board before the January 2008 Board Meeting.
2007 NO additional issues, lets move on to 2008 !!

*Dive League runs concurrent with Swim League.
**POOLS should decide with each other if a MEET should be changed to a Monday or later in the week, if that Sunday does not work for them.
**Meet with your Families/Dive Teams to survey your families about Meet Dates.

SAFETY Board Position: Organizes a Duraflex representative to inspect all MCDL pools dive boards. This is done every 3 years. Next inspection is due in 2009. SAFETY Board Member comes to all Board meetings to listen to all discussions and provide feedback.
PUBLICITY: Contacts Gazette, submits stories and scores. Journal, Gazette, and Washington Post will print results. Gazette wants to know where divers live so they will include results in that area’s paper. POST has taken photos in the past. They will post weekly results and include photos taken from the one week when photos were taken.
PRESIDENT…..nominations needed. KARL BORST CANNOT run again due to Bylaws of MCDL.
RULES Board Position: Steve Schrier has served 2 years on Board and Steve Olson will serve out the remaining year but then he will retire because his son will be graduating and no longer diving for MCDL.
According to Lori Puente, RULES is great entry point onto MCDL Board. RULES help with MCDL Board decision making and publishes the Rules, so everyone understands them. They will field questions during the season and deal with them.
TREASURER, Ann Thiede, happy with current position, could double with RULES position.

Paul Barton’s wife shared that she does Web Development. Steve Schrier asked if Karl Borst would continue with the IT part of President’s job. Karl said that he could until someone else can take it over.
Paul Barton’s wife shared that there is a woman she knows that might be interested in PUBLICITY position. She also shared that she might also be interested in doing PUBLICITY. Nancy Ale, who does Press Releases for her High school, would be willing to help with newspaper contacts.
Question of the Day: Can we do an E-mail Vote? Karl Borst said that “technically” we could. It must be One Vote per Pool.
Steve Schrier: “Can I ask for motion for Electronic Voting?”
Lori Puente: "I second the motion.”
Karl Borst: All in Favor? AYE! APPROVED.
Lori Puente: I need someone to take over ALL-STARS. I have made changes to the tables. Spreadsheets are done. NO problems. Trophies and Tees done by Carol Sprague, Ways and Means. And, usually there are no problems with Volunteers. Board is required to hold an ALL-STARS Meet. If no one steps up, the Board is required to run ALL-STARS Meet. Lori is working on a Manual for ALL-STARS. If any parent is interested, please let us know.
Dive Rep from Palisades announced that they have an old dive board available for a pool with “old” boards.” She will forward info to Karl to post on the MCDL website.
