MONTGOMERY COUNTY DIVING LEAGUE
MINUTES OF THE MAY 17, 2005 MEETING
I. Opening and Officers' Reports
The meeting was called to order by Karl Borst, President, at 7:35pm.
A. President - Karl said that the new insurance company asked if
we had a waiver form. We will put together a generic waiver
form and post for pools that do not have a waiver form.
B. Vice President - nothing to report.
C. Secretary - All past Minutes are on our web site and
Next years meetings are scheduled Tuesday 10/11/05 Aspen Hill
Library, Tuesday 3/21/06 and 5/16/06 at Chevy Chase Library.
D. Treasurer - nothing to report.
E. Publicity - Reported that Yolanda is working on a deal with Drink
More Water and has confirmed the Potomac Almanac will cover All-Stars.
F. Rules - John Currie and Melissa Huey-Burns - terms are up this September.
G. Safety - The safety form is in your box with an instruction sheet to
fill out and either mail to Bill or scan into your computer and e-mail to
Bill. His e-mail address is in the handbook. Also, a professional will
inspect the boards this year. They will call the team rep or pool to
schedule the inspection. If you have any questions about the form or
your diving board please e-mail Karl or Bill.
H. Ways and Means - All the ribbons are in the box. You can use
participation ribbons from previous years if you have them. Ribbons and
medals for Divisional Meet are given to the teams hosting Divisionals.
II. Old Business
A. Clinic dates and times are listed in the handbook and on the Web Site.
19th and July 10th. Seedings and Schedule was voted on and passed.
B. All-Star Meet 12 & Under Old Farm. Still need a pool for
13 & over All-Star Meet on Thursday 7/28
C. Rules Changes and Modifications
1. 8 & under event dive list changed to 101, 200 or 201, optional 3rd
2. Rule change for 10 & under age group to 9 & 10 age group.
4. Wildcard
1. Bulleted steps and procedure -
2. Standardized Procedure will be posted on the website.
5. Sportsmanship and Individual Behavior.
a. The MCDL Standards for Individual Behavior are posted on the website
and should be read everyone including divers, volunteers, and parents.
III. New Business
A. Karl posted guidelines for Division Coordinators on the Forms page.
Please take a look and provide comments and feedback.
B. MCDL Roster database has been cleared, so team reps can type in all dive
team members. If you make a mistake, add the person correctly and e-mail Karl
to delete the incorrect entry.
C. At the Divisional Meet have volunteers for All-Star Meet sign up and have
all divers fill out dive forms before they leave the Divisional Meet.
D. Dual Meet Results form is in triplicate again; one for your pool, one for the
other team, and one to mail to MCDL Records.
IV Closing
A. The Meeting was adjourned at 8:13 and the 2005 Season boxes were handed out
to represented pools in attendance.
